Uncontested Divorce

One year after your date of separation and once all of your personal and financial issues have been addressed, you are ready to file for your divorce decree. The Common Sense Divorce offers Do-It-Yourself and Full-Service processes to file your Uncontested Divorce.

In both files, our lawyers will prepare your Court Divorce Applications. The main difference between each process is whether you want to take the two days off work to go to the Superior Courthouse and file the documents with the court.

In the Do-It-Yourself process, we prepare the documents and provide you with full instructions on how to attend the Superior Court (requires 2 appearances), how to file your documents and how to legally serve your spouse the court documents.  In the Do-It-Yourself Process, you will pay the court mandated fees ($447) yourself and you will have to hire and pay a process server to legally serve your spouse the Divorce Order.

In the Full-Service process, we take care of the process for you. We prepare the documents and we attend the Superior Court (twice). We file your documents on your behalf and we legally serve your spouse the court documents.  In the Full-Service Process, all court mandated fees ($447) are included as well as process server costs.
